Congratulations to all of our students who took IGCSE English exams
this year. We have had a staggering 92% A and A* grade passes this
time, which is a tremendous achievement. Very well done, all of you!
However, special congratulations are due to those who found English
a struggle but nevertheless achieved your precious C and B grades.
You know who you are and I am very proud of you!
The course is now into its fourth year and as usual I make the
following very special guarantee, which reflects the confidence I

Any student who has been achieving C grade or higher in their
assignments but fails to achieve a C in the exam, is eligible
for further FREE support on the course until they do pass their
exam. |
New course materials
This year the English course materials have been revamped to fully
incorporate the syllabus changes, and are printed in full colour as
a soft-backed book. This makes them more durable and easier for
students to use and store. Wordweavers is also now presented in
full-colour soft-backed book format.
About the
courses
I’m Catherine Mooney and I
am a professional writer, English teacher, university tutor and
home-educator. Some time ago I recognised the need for a friendly,
approachable distance learning course that would enable
home-educated children to take a GCSE English Language exam,
regardless of their ability or educational starting point. The result
was my
IGCSE English Language Course for
Home-educators. This was over 3 years ago,
and the uptake was so encouraging that I decided to write

IGCSE English Literature for Home Educators and a short course
to improve your
Essay
Writing skills.
About the tutors
My very good friend, Bobbie Mellor, who is an experienced
home-educator, teacher and English examiner joins me in tutoring the
courses.
In addition to Bobbie’s teaching expertise, and her work with a
number of exam boards she is one of the warmest, loveliest people I
know! You can read more about her in the About
Us page. Students are tutored personally by
either Bobbie or myself (you can also choose to be tutored by one of
us, if you prefer, of course!).
